Perhaps because a walker needs the cane as a symbol of support and company. Clinging tightly to the staff, we advance in this new stage of the path. These days we have worked on MISSION and VOCATIONAL PASTORAL.
Jesus called the Twelve and sent them out... he charged them to take a staff for the journey and nothing else (Mk 6, 7)
We read on Sunday the 15th in the Word of God. Why would Jesus say that when he also tells them not to bring money or a spare tunic...?
Perhaps because a walker needs the cane as a symbol of support and company. Clinging tightly to the staff, we advance in this new stage of the path. In these days we have worked on the MISSION and VOCATIONAL PASTORAL. It is something that constitutes our identity and that we have seen reflected in so much life given to children, young people, teachers, families.
We have felt a lot of support, many staffs along the way: The Word, the Eucharist, the sisters, the entire Congregation and the Church that prays for us. SUPPORT Without a doubt, it is the Eucharist that is given to us every day, very well celebrated and motivated. We are accompanied by PP. Franciscans, His closeness and love for the Congregation is evident. Father Juan Carlos Martos, (Claretian) has also been with us and we can say the same. They are congregations that have been and continue to be support in our congregational journey.
Father Juan Carlos He guided us throughout a day in our reflection and study on Vocational Ministry. The process: sow to awaken, accompany to clarify and help to decide.SUPPORT They are also your words, which come to us from various communities and groups of the MLC, from well-known priests and nuns of a contemplative life to whom the news of the chapter event has reached.SUPPORT has been the word of Papa who enlightens us with his guidance on vocational ministry and formation. We have worked on his Message at the International Congress: «Vocational pastoral and consecrated life. Horizons and Hopes" in which the Pope concludes: "let no one steal the joy of following Jesus Christ. Let's break our fears! Let's get up now! Let's get to work! It's time to walk!"SUPPORT is being María and M. Carmen. The 16th was significant, we began the day with a Eucharist specially prepared and lived in gratitude, and with a cultural outing. We visited Combarro and Pontevedra, beautiful places that were celebrating that day, like almost all of Galicia that celebrates the Virgen del Carmen in a special way.
Also on the way there is brotherhood around the table, to regain strength. We can say that our cooks They treat us wonderfully, and they gave us special gifts: extra food with the detail of a red rose; We already started the celebration the day before having a chocolate and churros as a snack. There is no problem of losing weight. We also celebrate life on our sisters' birthdays, which is part of the holiday. Music also brightens the way, we learn songs in congregational languages and, if we can, we do not deprive ourselves of taking a walk through the old town of Santiago and listening to the prickly pear songs that surround it. They are all SUPPORTS necessary. On this journey we continue to see the work that is carried out in all Organizations both in General Pastoral Care and in Vocational Pastoral Care. Everything is reflected in presentations that have been carried out by those responsible for them and in beautiful and well-kept publications which are displayed in the chapter house. All personal work, or work done by small groups, is collected in beautiful panels.
For everything we get a THANK YOU:
THANKS to the WORD of each day, to María, to M. Carmen who make us walk light with luggage but well equipped with spirituality.THANK YOU To those of you who come to the chronicle because you make us feel accompanied.
THANK YOU to those who cannot physically read it but somehow make themselves present. AND THANKS to God, “giver of all good.”
The Word also told us these days that “not a single glass of water will go unrewarded.” May God reward you for your support. Thank you for being our staff, our water and our bread for the journey. Let us continue united in prayer. Let us not forget that “the harvest is plentiful.”
A hug and here is some graphic testimony of our journey.
