Expansion throughout the world of the Congregation of Missionaries of Education founded by Santa Carmen Sallés y Barangueras in Burgos, Spain, with the mission of evangelizing through education.
SPAIN
The 19th century ends. Women in Spain lack culture and their faith is very poor. Carmen Sallés is not indifferent to this situation and in 1892 she founded our Congregation, which today has 18 houses in Spain where we educate thousands of children and young people.

BRAZIL
M. Carmen Sallés leaves us the task: "Go, take the Congregation to other countries." We will respond to this call soon. They call us from Brazil and the first conceptionists arrive there in 1912. It is our first mission country.

JAPAN
A strong missionary concern flourishes in the church. In 1954 the first conceptionist expedition embarks for the country of the rising sun. It is difficult to learn the language and customs of such a different culture, but conceptionists do not stop in the face of difficulties. "God will provide" and they begin the mission.

VENEZUELA
On the shores of the Caribbean a young people call us: Venezuela. The moment of the answer is 1957. The beginnings are not easy nor persevere, but the great Conceptionist family that has been formed in that country has already celebrated the Golden Jubilee.

USA
Since 1962, the Conceptionist presence sits in American classrooms. Today three communities and as many parochial schools continue in Californian lands.

ITALY
Rome, the center of Christianity, the Conceptionist presence arrived in 1968, there we are a reception center for pilgrims.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Arms are lacking for the harvest, there are missions in Africa demanding help, we are called to Zaire in 1971. The mission is expanding. We must bring Christ to this country that suffers so much, to young people, children, families, ...

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Attending the cry of the most needy, the Congregation of Conception in 1972 arrived in the Dominican Republic. Thousands of students are educated in the centers run by the sisters in that country.

EQUATORIAL GUINEA
1981. Equatorial Guinea is experiencing a great deterioration, the Spanish State feels committed and asks the Church for help, we Conceptionists allow ourselves to be challenged by this call to bring there the presence of a Jesus who saves.

SOUTH KOREA
In 1985 we came to South Korea. It is an eastern country that rapidly spreads its Christian faith, and there we try to make the presence of Mary Immaculate felt.

PHILIPPINES
A Christian for four centuries, this country needs a renewal of faith. We arrived in 1986, to help children and young people to be better trained.

MEXICO
This mission is already several years old. The first conceptionists arrive in August 1996 and the school opens in 1998. Our love for the Immaculate Conception and our native language connect well with the Mexican people, with their simple and tender devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe.

CAMEROON
The third African country welcomed in 2001 a group of Conceptionist nuns who came from America, Africa and Spain to an international community, which will open new paths.

INDIA
Already in the 21st century, in September 2004 the conceptionist presence arrived in that immense country, with deep religious traditions. Currently several young women are in training, preparing to make the profession as Conceptionist nuns.

REPUBLIC OF CONGO
In 2008, the foundation was in another African country, which has been the victim of a civil war of more than eleven years and which is hardly getting up. At the same time there is a conceptionist community and a school for children.

INDONESIA
In April 2012, the Conceptionist presence arrived in that country, with deep religious traditions. There is currently a community on the island of Flores, in the city of Larantuka, along with a nursery and primary school. Some young women are in training, preparing to be Conceptionist nuns.
