How about the first stage of the road? Hearts that since the different continents have prepared over the months to live this moment as a chance, as grace and question ... the spirit breaks down? Are we all open to God's action in our lives? Does the desire for growing fidelity move to God's wanting? These brief lines try to respond to so many white and blue hearts that want to live even in the distance the stages of the capitular route. With the backpack prepared on the 30th we left from Madrid putting us under the protection of the Virgin of Providence.
Upon arriving at Ponferrada a stop along the way. The community welcomed us. The table of the Eucharist and fraternal sharing made us happy. At the end of the afternoon, under threatening clouds he received the city of Santiago. We start the spiritual exercises that same night directed by Father Xavier Quintana SJ, and the rain accompanied us during those first days. The spirit was soaking the earth. The silence and the prayer atmosphere were introducing us to God's love. The Ignatian itinerary favored a climate of discernment preparing our land to welcome God's desire in our congregation today.
On the 8 at sunset we finished the first stage of the road and that night we met to start the second stage. The prayer with Mary, the mother of Jesus congregated us at the beginning of the day. It was accompanied by different symbols: the crucific, the word, the light, the image of María Immaculate (the "founder") and the Constitutions.
The inauguration Eucharist was chaired by Mr. Archbishop of Santiago Don Julián Barrios. In a very close and deep homily he encouraged us to keep the listening of the Holy Spirit with responsibility and a strong sense of the divine. "A chapter is a Pascual celebration with everything that Easter has a cross, death and resurrection." He encouraged us to write a page full of hope, to discern where the Lord passes in today of our history. "Your general chapter interests not only to you, but also to the Church and the world, and it must be a new and deep manifestation of God to men and a page of hope"We entrusted us with the sponsorship of Santiago Apostle and Santa Carmen Sallés. At the end of the Eucharist we were given a symbol of the spirit and began the preliminary sessions and the presentation of the personnel memory.
