Sisters, we enter the last stage of our General Chapter!
Time passes quickly, a few days ago we started the path, and now, we begin to “go down the mountain”. The work is intense, some days are more arduous than others, but in all of us we are encouraged by the confidence that we have not lacked God's grace. The desire to move forward wakes us up at dawn, encourages us in our work, and leads us to thanksgiving at the end of the day.
Each capitular, aware that here he represents a part of the Congregation, is like a sentinel, attentive to details, responsible, vigilant, so that, whether in reflections in the chapter house with studies, deepening, exchanges and clarifications, or in relaxed conversations on night walks around the Monastery of El Escorial, which help prepare the spirit to enjoy the night's rest, we outline proposals to advance further in our consecration and educational-evangelizing mission.
Among the themes of Religious Life and Mission, illuminated by synodality, suggestions sent by sisters and Organizations were also discussed, teams formed to analyze personal and economic memories presented their conclusions, paths in relation to Vocational Pastoral were discussed, among other relevant matters of this chapter. The depth and importance of the topics discussed here lead us to a rich sharing, which favors the common exchange of experiences, concerns, hopes, visions...
In the midst of the dynamics of the sessions, there was also the opportunity to thank the current General Government for the dedication, zeal and availability with which each sister gave her life during this six-year term. The superiors of the Organisms present, together with the capitulars, paid a simple tribute to our sisters.
To help the group before the spiritual exercises that aim to prepare us for the day dedicated to the elections of the superior general and counselors who On the 23rd we traveled to Segovia where we visited the construction site of the new Concepcionist school that is being built there, a large project that will house approximately 900 students in the future. We had the Eucharist in the Cathedral of Segovia, presided over by Bishop Don César Franco and a tour of the Cathedral, guided by P. Ángel García, cousin of M. Rosario Moreno. For lunch we were received by the Conceptionist community of Segovia, who gave us a delicious meal as well as a fraternal and joyful coexistence, for which we were grateful. In the afternoon we prayed the rosary in the Santuario de la Fuencisla, we visited the tomb of San Juan de la Cruz and the Palácio de la Granja de San Ildefonso, a spa belonging to the Spanish monarchy. This whole day promoted coexistence and a change of scenery.
May everything help us prepare our minds and hearts to conclude this chapter time. We remain grateful for everything we have experienced and received.
