The second and third day of our General Chapter, July 11 and 12, were very special. We are dedicated to listen to fears, hopes, crossroads of grace and future prospects of each of the organizations of the Congregation... What a wonderful gift the Conceptionist charisma incarnated in each of these places!
Saint Carmen left us a mandate: "Where I cannot, you go". The missionary spirit of our Congregation is expressed in the diversity of cultures in which the conceptionist charisma has expanded: Europe, America, Asia and Africa. He "let's go to Burgos" pronounced by our holy Foundress, was translated by the "vamos a Brasil, a Venezuela, a Japón, a Guinea... y tantos otros lugares". Listening to the fears, the crossroads of grace and the future perspectives of each organization, the key note of the comments of the capitular sisters was a deep thanksgiving for the dedication, apostolic zeal and community effort of the religious and lay people to give face to the conceptionist ideal.
In these two days The icon that accompanied us was that of the wedding at Cana. There, Jesus, encouraged by Mary's intercession, turned water into wine. We continue to hear the call that, in every place of the Conceptionist presence, we direct our gaze to Mary Immaculate, just as Saint Carmen Sallés did…experiencing the strength and courage to overcome challenges and continue “forward, always forward.” As in Cana, when we feel that we lack wine, let us not doubt that María nos recordará con voz dulce e imperiosa: "Haced lo que Él os diga".
