A renewed website and the journey of the WYD Cross
On the occasion of this fourth anniversary and less than 200 days before WYD in Lisbon, the official website https://www.lisboa2023.org/es has also been renewed and is now available in 5 languages, where you can find more information about the spiritual and logistical preparations, as well as about the pilgrimage of the symbols of the World Youth Day, the cross and the icon, which visit the different Portuguese dioceses since March 2022. These days, the symbols are found in the Archdiocese of Braga.
registration of participants
World Youth Day, whose theme this year is “Maria got up and left without delay.», is an important event on the agenda of youth ministry throughout the world. This is confirmed by preliminary data from the enrollment system, according to which, to date, young people from 180 countries and some 200 bishops have already declared their intention to participate in WYD (and the numbers are increasing every day). Among those registered there are also pilgrims who, in addition to participating in the WYD program, want to share their talents and charismas during the Youth Festival, which is part of the official program of the event. For them, the suggested registration deadline is February 5th.
World Youth Day (WYD) has its next special edition in the summer of 2023 in the city of Lisbon, from August 1 to 6, with a call previous in the Dioceses of Portugal.
Within the framework of daily pastoral work, participation in an event like this can be of great value, both for young people and for pastoral workers.
In the last PYV National Days, a motivation to participate in this event already resonated, including a video sent by D. Américo Manuel Alves Aguiar, Auxiliary Bishop of Lisbon and President of the WYD Lisbon 2023 Foundation, in which he invites our heads of ministry to be "ambassadors and influencers of the invitation to World Youth Day".
