On the morning of the 13th we received M. Belén at the Maracay school with a welcome song while she was accompanied by children dressed as Venezuelan Saints. We received it with words of joy from M. Auniuska Pérez and Professor Danis Amaya, director of the school. The meeting began with morning prayer and reading of the Gospel by teacher Greicy. Then everyone was able to enjoy the staging of the arrival of the first Conceptionists to Venezuela, which has been 68 years since. Next, another representation was made about the Conceptionists in charge of founding the La Concepción de Maracay school, which has already been in operation for 64 years.
Then it was the turn to greet her in the classrooms and the first to receive her in her gallery were the little ones in early education. On the 14th, the reception by the high school students took place. This time M. Belén was accompanied by M. Mariana Guinand, Provincial Sup., who arrived very early to participate in the activities with M. Belén.
In the afternoon M. Belén had the opportunity to greet the young people of the group Edelmar along with their helmsmen, and they also gave him a simple souvenir detail. Young people who form groups symbolically called caravels of the 3rd, 4th and 5th year of high school participate in this youth movement.
M. Belén Gómez de Castro, Superior General, also offered a day of formation. At the meeting he emphasized the importance of returning to the roots of the charism, remembering the fundamental intuition of Mother Carmen, a source of vitality in our mission. The topic of synodal leadership was also addressed, promoting a participatory approach within the congregation. The synodal perspective invites all members of our community to work together to build a common path. The training focused on the need to reread Mother Carmen's legacy in the light of the Spirit, allowing us to respond appropriately to contemporary realities and diverse contexts. This reflection is essential to revitalize our commitment to mission and teaching in changing times.
He also took the opportunity to visit the sanctuary of the Venezuelan Blessed Mother María de San José. The students received Mother General with great emotion and gratitude. It was a very emotional moment and a great testimony to the Conceptionist spirit.
