FIFTY SISTERS, SIX COMMUNITIES AND ONE SAME HEART. THE JOY OF FEELING FAMILY.
There are encounters that nourish the body, cheer the heart and renew the ties that unite us, because we meet to celebrate brotherhood and the joy of sharing.
This is how we live on Saturday, October 24, our traditional MAGOSTO, a beloved autumn tradition from Bercia around chestnuts and the shared table, which brought together 50 nuns from seven communities in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
We find the illusion of those who know that being together is a gift. From the first moment, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, closeness, smiles and that human warmth that is born when we feel like sisters, beyond the community to which each one belongs.
After the initial welcome, we put our meeting in the hands of the Lord, with the prayer of Vespers in the chapel. Shared prayer brought us together in the same faith and gave depth to the joy of meeting each other. We visited the new kindergarten classrooms, a beautiful space to begin the conceptionist journey; We walked through patios and rooms until it was time to reach the dining room. This became a scene of celebration and fraternity. Around the table, we share food, conversations and laughter. And, since joy is also expressed with the body and voice, there was no shortage of dances, folk songs and those spontaneous moments that awaken memories, spread enthusiasm and make us feel the joy of shared life.
The MAGOSTO It was much more than a gastronomic celebration. It was an opportunity to strengthen ties, meet from simplicity and celebrate the richness of being a Conceptionist family. Fraternity is also built like this: around a table, to the beat of a song, in a shared smile and in the joy of knowing we are part of the same mission.
We are left with the echo of the songs, the joy of the dances and, above all, the certainty that these spaces help us continue walking together, strengthening communion and renewing the hope of our vocation.
Thanks to the Community of El Escorial. Their welcome turned the meeting into a party. And to all of you, for making this special afternoon possible.
