On June 28, already at dusk, M. Belén Gómez de Castro, Superior General and M. Nieves Rosado General Councilor, arrived in Bacolod, Philippines, under the rain, which would become the rain of Blessing. On the morning of the 29th, the entire educational community, in their multipurpose patio, gave them a loving welcome, their songs, music and hugs demonstrated how welcoming and affectionate they are. This nice video they share proves it. They also toured classrooms, patios... exchanging smiles and hugs.
They also visited Barangay 39, to which the school belongs and where some of our students live. This neighborhood was affected a few months ago by a fire that affected a large area, 7 of the school families lost everything, thanks to the NGO ALWAYS ADELANTE they have already been able to rebuild their small homes. They confirmed again the lack of resources of these families and at the same time, the gratitude for the opportunity for their children to have the possibility of being educated at our “Santa Carmen Sallés” School, which was also home and refuge, during the time it took them to recover the burned area they were living, with tents, in our covered patio. During these days they will continue their visit to the Philippines.
