On the weekend of November 10, 11 and 12, the II Assembly of Laity in Venezuela call "From Emmaus to Pentecost" in preparation for the celebration of XIV Provincial Chapter.
It began on Friday morning in the "Emmaus" spirituality house of the Religious Servants of the Most Holy, who offered us that space for this first day of work. We began with the participation of Fr. Alfredo Infante sj., who motivated the group with the biblical context of the icon of Pentecost. It was a very deep and demanding contextualization that helped to enter into the theme and prepare hearts for the opening of the action of the Spirit. It was Fr. Infante himself who celebrated the opening mass for the assembly that day. In the afternoon, the document "Educating today and tomorrow. A passion that is renewed" was worked on.
The following days, Saturday and Sunday, were spent in the facilities of the Montalbán school. Saturday began with the celebration of the Eucharist officiated by Fr. Danny Socorro sj., who invited discernment to give, in the daily life of our lives, the "currency of God" enlightened from the Gospel "give to Caesar what What belongs to God is Caesar's and God's" (Mk 12:17). Then, between the morning and the afternoon, the documents "Evangelii Gaudium", "Young people, faith and vocational discernment" were worked on and the lights and shadows were also reviewed, and the keys to the future of the "Synthesis Document" of all the educational centers of Venezuela. It was certainly an intense day. The participation and contributions of the laity expressed identity with the charism and commitment to the mission. At the end of the afternoon, we shared a Marian space around the image of the Virgin in the school yard, where the symbols of our educational experience were presented at the feet of our Immaculate Mother. Then, at night, a space for recreation and fun was opened, presenting by centers, a cultural number that reflected the educational mission of each place. It was a wonderful space that was enjoyed to the fullest.
On Sunday we got together very early for Sunday mass at the Parroquia San Alfonso María de Ligorio in El Paraiso. Then we begin to review the conclusions of the previous day and the keys for the future, to include the activities that will lead to the realization of these concerns. We finished Sunday at noon, after sharing the possible activities that were considered necessary and, after thanking the willingness and affection expressed in the work done, M. Mariana Guinand, Provincial Superior, addressed some last words to the participants full of gratitude. and motivation in the educational task that we are all passionate about, and to live in daily life in the key of Pentecost, that is, in tune with the Spirit of God.
