On March 9, neither the cold nor the rain prevented the participants from arriving very early at the Conceptionist school of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Reason? Lenten Retreat scheduled for lay people of the Conceptionist Lay Movement of Spain. The agenda consisted of the affectionate welcome that the local community offers to the participants every year, the Lauds prayer, a talk given by Fr. Pedro Alberto Sánchez, osa, a penitential paraliturgy with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and with enough time for those who wished to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, ending the morning with the prayer of thanksgiving par excellence, the Eucharist.
After a tasty meal and a time of rest, the participants gathered in small groups to share life and faith, taking advantage of the questions left by the speaker who spoke to them about conversion: to God and neighbor. The retreat ended with the prayer of the rosary at 4:45 p.m. and everyone left strengthened and joyful for the day lived intensely.
