In October 2018, the XV ordinary general assembly of the Synod of Bishops will be held, whose theme will be: “Young people, faith and vocational discernment.”
The Holy Father, after having consulted, as usual, the episcopal conferences, the sui iuris Eastern Catholic Churches and the Union of Superiors General, in addition to having listened to the suggestions of the Fathers of the last synodal assembly and the opinion of the XIV Ordinary Council, has established that in October 2018 the XV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops will be held, whose theme will be: "Young people, faith and vocational discernment." The theme, an expression of the Church's pastoral care for young people, is in continuity with the results of the recent synodal assemblies on the family and with the content of the post-synodal apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia. Its purpose is to accompany young people on their existential path towards maturity so that, through a process of discernment, they discover their life project and carry it out with joy, opening themselves to encounters with God and human beings and actively participating in the building of the Church and society.
