This weekend (from February 14 to 16, 2020) a "Congress of Lay People of God in Salida 2020",with the aim of promoting the pastoral and missionary conversion of the laity in the People of God, as a sign and instrument of the proclamation of the Gospel.

Pope Francis sent a message to the Congress of Laity 'People of God on the way out' in which he asked them to "Please avoid at all costs the 'temptations' of the laity within the Church, which can be: clericalism, which is a plague and locks them in the sacristy, as well as competitiveness and ecclesial careerism, rigidity and negativity..., which suffocate the specificity of their call to holiness in today's world." With this message, Pope Francis wanted to be present in Congress.
