On January 14, our community participated in a solidarity action organized by the religious life of Larantuka to help in the refugee camps caused by the eruption of the volcano in Indonesia.
Each community participated by donating food according to its possibilities. The synod asks to walk together and that is what our community did. Those who were able went to three different refugee camps to take what was collected and in each camp they encouraged the children with songs, talked to the people and shared their joy and listened to their difficulties.
It was an activity of solidarity that required courage to go to these places with difficulties. Going together and helping together was a testimony to the people who saw us and welcomed us.
We pray that this situation can end soon and that people return to their homes.
