From May 19 to 20, 2026, the religious who attend the Preparation Course for Perpetual Profession in Spain received training on the "Funciones de una Secretaria Concepcionista". During the two days that the training lasted, the person in charge M. Ingrid Matos, General Secretary, spoke to them about the Secretariat Manual, the tools of their work, the profile of a secretary and the different tasks to be carried out on a day-to-day basis. The meeting began with a beautiful moment of prayer reading Luke 1, 1-4:
"Puesto que muchos han intentado narrar ordenadamente las cosas que se han verificado entre nosotros, tal como nos las han transmitido los que desde el principio fueron testigos oculares y servidores de la Palabra, he decidido yo también, después de haber investigado diligentemente todo desde los orígenes, escribírtelo por su orden, ilustre Teófilo, para que conozcas la solidez de las enseñanzas que has recibido." Palabra del Señor.
After a moment of personal prayer, they reflected on what they had heard and Luke explains that he has carefully investigated, that he has listened to the witnesses and that he has written down, with order and dedication, the story of Jesus. Its intention is clear: to help others have certainty, clarity and confidence in their faith.
Saint Luke wants to “Narrate in an orderly manner”, and to do so he listens, collects, organizes, writes... His service is discreet, but essential, and thanks to him, others can encounter Jesus, including us.
In the life of a congregation, the secretarial service looks a lot like this: It is a service that preserves memory, gives clarity, orders processes, facilitates the mission, allows the community to walk with confidence. What seems administrative is, in reality, deeply evangelical... it helps to keep alive the memory of God's action in his people through us...
What we do carefully gives strength to the mission. What we do with love sustains sisters. What we do in silence opens paths for others.
