The Time of Creation It is a time to renew our relationship with our creator and with all creation through celebration, conversion and commitment. It is an annual ecumenical time in which we pray and act together as a Christian family for our common house.
The Ecumenical Committee of the Time of Creation has developed a Guide To pray, celebrate and advocate together for hope and action with creation at this time!
To commit to the time of creation at the beginning of the year allows to better prepare the initiatives that are held from September 1 to October 4 and encourage a broader participation of local organizations and groups. However, when planning events, remember that they are not ends in themselves. On the contrary, we must focus on promoting significant encounters, continuous processes and deep listening. This approach reinforces our ecumenical commitment to the care of creation, in line with our role of custodians.
"Peace with creation"
Every year, the Ecumenical Management Committee of the Time of Creation proposes a topic for the time of creation. This year's theme is "Peace with creation", inspired by Isaiah32: 14-18:
“The fortress will be abandoned, and the populous city forsaken; forever converted into caves will be the tower and the fortress; turned into the delight of wildls, in a pasture of herds, until from the top the spirit is shed on us. Then the desert will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will become forest. Justice will die in the desert will inhabit righteousness.
"Garden of Peace"
The 2025 symbol is inspired by Isaiah 32: 14-18. Entitled "Garden of Peace", represents a white dove flying over a tree. The left side of the tree is sterile, with roots that sink into the dry earth, surrounded by an arid and desolate landscape. Instead, the right part of the tree is lush and green, in the middle of a flourishing landscape. La Paloma, with an olive branch in the beak, flies to the right, symbolizing peace as a transition from a land devastated by war and overexploited to another fertile, prosperous and hospitable.
This guide will help to know and plan this time. Includes ideas for prayer, including an ecumenical prayer service (Page 17) and ways of incorporating and reflecting on the subject and symbol of this year (see Addendum 1). There are also resources, among which web seminars and prayer services, samples of promotional material and official channels of the time of social networks, are available online.
