The Laudato Si’ Platform for Action it is the fruit of a unique collaboration between the Vatican, an international coalition of Catholic organizations and “all men of good will”. (LS 3) With a true bottom-up approach, from the local level, it draws on the strengths and realities of communities around the world, empowering everyone to take “decisive action, here and now”, as we walk together towards A better future. (LS 161)

Action must be taken urgently. Our Creator called the human family to be stewards of creation, but we have neglected that call. Our planet, hotter, dirtier and deader, increases the risk of suffering. And it is especially the most vulnerable who are paying the price and suffering the most.
At this moment we respond to the call to heal our relationship with God, with our neighbor and with the earth itself. Through the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, we are going through the “regeneration processes” together. (LS 202)
Pope Francis calls us to develop a "loving awareness" of this home we share and to act from the values in which we believe. (LS220)
Resting on the firm ground of "three closely connected fundamental relationships: the relationship with God, with the neighbor and with the earth", we commit ourselves to undertake "long processes of regeneration". (LS 66, 202) We assume our rightful place in the “order and dynamism” that our Creator has established, and we urgently seek new ways of living with “creativity and enthusiasm” (LS 221, 220).

Response to the cry of the earth
It is a call to protect our common home for the good of all, while equitably addressing the climate crisis, biodiversity loss and ecological sustainability. Actions could include adopting renewable energy and energy sufficiency measures
|
Response to the cry of the poor
It is a call to promote eco-justice, aware that we are called to defend human life from conception to death, and all forms of life on Earth. Actions could include projects to promote solidarity, with special attention to vulnerable groups.
|
ecological economy
The economy is a subsystem of human society, which in turn is integrated into the biosphere, our common home. Actions could include sustainable production and consumption, ethical investments, divestment from fossil fuels and from any activity harmful to the planet and people; support for circular economies and the prioritization of care work and the protection of the dignity of workers.
|
Adoption of sustainable lifestyles
It is based on the idea of sufficiency and promoting moderation in the use of resources and energy. Actions could include reducing waste and recycling, adopting sustainable eating habits, increased use of public transport, active mobility, and avoiding single-use items.
|
ecological education
It consists of rethinking and redesigning the curricular and institutional reform in the spirit of integral ecology to foster ecological awareness and carry out transformative actions. Actions could include ensuring equitable access to education for all and promoting human rights, advancing Laudato Si’ themes within the community.
|
ecological spirituality
It arises from a deep ecological conversion and helps us to "discover God in all things", both in the beauty of creation and in the sighs of the sick and the moans of the afflicted, aware that the life of the spirit is not dissociated from worldly realities. Actions could include the promotion of liturgical celebrations based on creation, the development of ecological catecheses, retreats and formation programs, etc.
|
Resilience and community empowerment
Resilience and community empowerment conceive a synodal path of community engagement and participatory action at various levels.
The actions could include the promotion of defense and the development of popular campaigns, fostering roots and a sense of belonging in local communities and neighborhood ecosystems.
