students of 40 degree from Saint Brigid's College in San Francisco, participated in the national and world math contest: Mathletics. For two weeks they have been practicing mental math, problem solving with schools not only in the USA and Canada, but also around the world.
The objective was to hit mathematical operations, the most possible in a certain time. At the end of the time, they had to choose classmates from the schools that competed at the national and world level, until they finished in the first three positions. And the result : 40 degree stayed at 1is place nationally and 40 Worldwide. The prize was a trophy for the class and a check for $500.00.

Getting to know Carmen Sallés and Barangueras
Carmen Sallés and Barangueras (April 9, 1848, Vic, Barcelona – July 25, 1911, Madrid) was a nun Spanish known for founding the Congregation of Missionary Conceptionist Religious of Teaching, under the principle of equality between men and women, considering that the woman of the late nineteenth century should be worthy of an academic education and values. Whose characteristic note was the filial love for the Virgin Mary. Beatified on March 15, 1998 and canonized on October 21, 2012 by the Pope Benedict XVI on Vatican City.1His charisma lives on, spreading through his schools.
Born in Vic on April 9, 1848. Daughter of José Sallés y Vall and Francisca Barangueras y de Planell. She is the second of ten siblings. She studied in the Order of the Company of Mary in Manresa. Enter the novitiate of the Worshipers of Barcelona, later passing through a Congregation of Religious founded by the P. Coll dedicated to teaching and education: the Dominicas de la Anunciata.
It finally finds its mission by founding in 1892 under the protection of the Bishop of Burgos, the congregation of Religious Conceptionist Missionaries of Teaching, which currently continues to dedicate itself to various countries, including Spain, Brazil, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Japan. Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of the Congo, Rome, Korea, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, the United States. She died in Madrid on July 25, 1911. She was beatified on March 15, 1998, and canonized on October 21, 2012. Thousands of students continue to grow in conceptionist centers guided by her example.
