Last Thursday, October 8, the training of religion teachers from the Conceptionist schools of Spain began at the provincial house.
These are three meetings that arise from the desire to increase training in this area and at the same time to reflect on how to enrich our religion classes, making the Word go through all the courses and all the classes.
The first meeting had as its backbone “A look at the Word.”
The day began with a prayer in the form of a letter that expressed gratitude for how the Scriptures reflect us in each daily experience. It highlighted how the Word sustains and encourages our lives and those of those around us, as well as the certainty of perceiving how the Lord is doing “his task” in each member of the community.
Napoleón Ferrández Zaragoza - diocesan priest, doctor in Biblical Theology from the San Dámaso Ecclesiastical University of Madrid - presented the program for the morning, showing some books that can help understand some biblical texts and make them closer to the students.
The development of the morning consisted of an exegetical master lesson on the first five chapters of John: The wedding at Cana, the dialogue with Nicodemus, Jesus and the Samaritan woman and the healing of the paralytic at the pool of Bethesda.
After a brief rest he continued with Pedro's path: His choice, his initial enthusiasm, his doubts, his disappointment, his fears, his betrayal... and his crying. Jesus takes Peter to the limit, to give fullness to his life.
The afternoon was a time to share the work done by Cristina Ruiz Tirado, second year novice, on the seventy-three books of the Bible. Through infographics, it schematically presents the main message, the key characters, place of event, date of setting, parts of the book and relevant formation of what it develops.
This is magnificent material for delving deeper into specific books of the Bible.
