The Church in Madrid summons this Thursday to a prayer for Pope Francis in the Cathedral of the Almudena.
The Archdiocese of Madrid invite To all the faithful, parishes, consecrated life, movements and associations of the Church in Madrid, to join in A prayer for the restoration of the health of Pope Francis this Thursday, February 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Almudena Cathedral, chaired by Cardinal José Cobo, archbishop of Madrid.
In this moment of fragility, in which the Holy Father is admitted to the hospital, the Madrid Church wants to show him his closeness and support, so that he feels accompanied by the sincere prayer of God's people.
A very special gesture
The sentence will be prepared by the young people of Madrid and will have a special gesture: the delivery of the drawings that the children of the archdiocese have made as a sign of their love and affection to the Pope.
This initiative has been promoted by several delegations from the Diocese, collected the message that Francisco has remembered so many times: "Do not stop praying for me." Since the proposal was launched, hundreds of drawings from children from schools, catechesis groups and parishes of the entire diocese have been received. And, as part of this initiative, the little ones have been encouraged to pray for the Pope while making their drawings, thus making them a sign of prayer and love. The deadline for sending the drawings of the little ones concludes this Tuesday, February 25.
Children attending the cathedral will deliver a selection of these drawings to the archbishop of Madrid, who will preside over the prayer for the Pope. Besides, All those who have received, will be collected in a book that will be taken to Rome as a testimony of the affection of the little ones in the Church in Madrid.
